Swampfire, opened in 1987, was the first of the four new courses at Garland designed by Ron Otto. A round of 18 on this course will require patience and precision as all but four of the holes have water hazards. This course will be a true assessment of your shot-making ability. No. 5 is considered the signature hole on Swampfire. There is a huge tee box here in the shape of a horseshoe that wraps around a giant pond. Several sets of tee boxes here allow the hole to be played differently every time you tee up your ball.

Monarch, built in 1990, has a layout that is one of Michigan's longest golf courses, a formidable 7,188 yards from the back tees. But despite the length from the tips and the streams, ponds and lakes found on 14 of the 18 holes, this is one course that particularly appeals to women. The forward tees are set at 4,904 yards. This course is also a favorite because of the nesting bald eagles that can be seen from one of the holes.

The Reflections Course, designed by Ron Otto and built in 1992, is one of the favorite courses at Garland, in part because it's our shortest course and also because it's lush fairways meander through a forest of majestic pines. The most demanding hole on the course is the 555-yard par-5 No. 5. Ponds in the area turn into creeks that cross the fairway twice.

Fountains, the newest of our four courses, opened in 1995. This 6,800-yard course is a miraculous match for its beautiful setting. This course is loaded with water challenges; it has water on nine of its holes, mainly sparkling ponds enhanced by fountains. This course with six par-5s, six par-4s and six par-3s is a favorite with players because it features bentgrass from tee to green and elegant white sand bunkers.
